As with many other iFi audio products, we’ve incorporated a custom OV Series operational-amplifier. This top-notch component contributes to the extremely low noise, low distortion (0.0001%) and wide bandwidth.
It’s designed to be a linear device, which means it’s purpose is to get the signal from point A to point B with as little alteration as possible, all the while performing its duty. The iEMatch adjusts levels while making sure the source impedance seen by the headphone is low and the load seen by the amplifier is within normal design parameters.
It does not alter (materially) impedances or affect the frequency response of the attached headphones. It is not like some adapters sold that simply place a resistor in series with the headphone and often degrade sound quality.

It comes with a leather travel case, Lightning to USB-C cable (no need for a Camera Connection Kit), USB-C OTG cable, and USB-C to USB-A adapter.
Balance of power
The GO bar, despite its compact size, features advanced analogue circuitry with a balanced twin-channel design. By fully separating the left and right channels, it reduces noise and crosstalk, a feature typically found in larger and more expensive amplifiers. It is packed with premium components and optimized power supply filtering, it significantly reduces signal noise from the USB input for an exceptional listening experience.

Four bespoke digital filtering options:
- Bit Perfect – no digital filtering, no pre or post ringing
- Standard – modest filtering, modest pre and posting ringing
- Minimum Phase – slow roll-off, minimum pre and post ringing
- Gibbs Transient Optimised – minimum filtering, no pre-ringing and minimum post ringing
Two analogue processing modes:
- XBass+ – an analogue bass boost to ‘add back’ lost bass response for more accurate reproduction of the original
- XSpace – a holographic sound field to open up your music to give you the spaciousness of a live concert
External affairs
The GO bar’s smart alloy case sports physical buttons for precise volume adjustment plus controls to select between various sonic tuning options. A column of coloured LEDs provides a handy guide to the format and sample rate of the digital audio currently playing, and whether XBass+ and/or XSpace are engaged.
At one end is an asynchronous USB-C input and at the other a pair of headphone outputs.

Android users will appreciate the USB-C OTG cable, which can also be used with USB-C-equipped PCs and Macs; a USB-C to USB-A adapter is also included, thus covering most bases straight out of the box.
Apple users will love the bespoke Lightning to USB-C cable, engineered by iFi so you don’t need to add Apple’s Camera Adapter dongle to use the GO bar with iOS devices, as you do with other USB DACs – thus reducing bulk and cost.
