Inspired by the legendary Phillips TDA1541A which is hailed as the ‘king of multi-bit DACs’, this quad-core DAC architecture echoes the magic and heritage of the Philips chipset used inside the AMR CD-77. The Pro iDSD Signature offers the dynamic punch and slam of the iconic Phillips chip, but with superior low-level linearity for breath-taking detail.
Remastering content to high resolution DSD has previously only been available to a select few, including the world's best mastering houses.. The Pro iDSD Signature is the first DAC that brings this once exclusive processing to the hands of the consumer via a custom-coded FPGA, to transform any file and ultimately make music sound closer to a professionally remastered recording.
Choose between two fully balanced Class A circuit modes – discrete solid-state or tube – in real time. Both use the highest-grade components, with the tube mode powered by hand-selected, matched NOS GE5670 valves. Love the rich, analogue warmth of tubes? Activate Tube+ mode to boost 2nd-order harmonics by 6dB for an even more fluid, musical sound.
Stream high-resolution music wirelessly to your Pro iDSD Signature using Airplay or your favourite DLNA/UPnP player – all from the comfort of your couch.

The Signature takes the original Pro iDSD and pushes it even further towards perfection. It has a darker sonic background and punchier bass, upgraded power supply components for 300% lower system noise, matched NOS GE5670s tubes, USB1.0 support for PS4/PS5, a new aluminum remote, and the premium iPower Elite power supply included.
E-tailoring
The Pro iDSD Signature offers extreme sonic tailoring with solid-state, tube, or tube+ modes at the flick of a switch. The Crysopeia FPGA Digital Engine provides multiple digital filtering options, including GTO, Bit Perfect, Bit Perfect+, Apodising, and Transient Aligned filters, for precise sound tweaking. Its fully balanced Class A amplifier stage features adjustable gain.

The Pro iDSD Signature uses a quad-stack DAC – 4 x DACs in an interleaved configuration – to deliver exceptional resolution. The powerful XMOS XU216 X-Core 200 series chipset processes incoming digital data and enables the Pro iDSD Signature to provide state of the art audio support – from MP3, 32-bit/768kHz PCM, DSD512, 2xDXD and full MQA decoding.
Thanks to the Crysopeia FPGA Digital Engine the Pro iDSD Signature brings studio grade DSD remastering to a wider audience. It can upconvert PCM and DSD files to DSD512 and DSD1024.

Is Bit-perfect+ not present?
Bit-perfect+ is only available for sample rates of 96kHz or lower. If the PC sent a different sample rate (e.g. 192kHz) there is no Bit-perfect+ option.
Can it be affected by noise on USB line?
The Pro iDSD/Pro iDSD Signature can be affected by packet errors the same way any USB device can. It is not, however, affected by noise on the USB power (it does not use USB power) or ground/Earth loops via USB or other inputs (because it uses galvanic isolation).
Does it have a headphone amplifier?
There is no “headphone amplifier” in the Pro iDSD / Pro iDSD Signature. Just a gain stage/line driver that is sufficiently powerful to drive many headphones directly, however, doing so is clearly a compromise over using a dedicated headphone amplifier like our Pro iCAN/Pro iCAN Signature. It is adequate for anyone occasionally using headphones while mostly using a speaker based system. However, unlike the Pro iCAN/Pro iCAN Signature, it is not optimized for headphone drivers. It cannot drive as wide a range of headphones as the Pro iCAN/Pro iCAN Signature and it lacks the sonic controls offered by the Pro iCAN/Pro iCAN Signature.
It should be seen as a state of the art DAC, which may drive headphones, and not as headphone amplifiers that accidentally had some “normal DAC” fitted.
External USB memory sticks
Some SSD/USB memory sticks will work powered from the Pro iDSD/Pro iDSD Signature “A” (host) interface, however, this cannot be guaranteed, as some drives require as much as 1A. If in doubt, add iDefencer+ and iPower to provide power to the drive USB.
Does the fixed output bypass the analog pot completely, and does the tube get used on the DAC’s output stage, or is it for the amp stage only?
Yes on both.
Is 5 GHz supported?
No, not at this time only 2.4 GHz.
