The iDSD PHANTOM brings DSD Remastering, previously only available to the world’s best mastering studios, to the hands of the consumer via a custom-coded FPGA, to transform any file and ultimately make music sound closer to a professionally remastered recording. DSD2048 represents a new pinnacle for our development of this technology.
Choose between two fully balanced Class A circuit modes – discrete solid-state or tube – in real time. Both use the highest-grade components, with the tube mode powered by hand-selected, matched NOS GE5670 valves. Love the rich, analogue warmth of tubes? Activate Tube+ mode to boost 2nd-order harmonics by 6dB for an even more fluid, musical sound.
K2HD restores rich, natural harmonics to lifeless digital recordings. Its advanced high-frequency extension revives overtones beyond 22kHz, delivering audio quality close to the original master. We have worked extensively with JVCKENWOOD to bring their renowned K2HD Technology to our most desirable products, and are proud to finally include this technology in our latest flagship DAC.

At its heart sit four Burr-Brown DACs, arranged in a custom interleaved configuration to extract every last detail from the music. Working alongside them is the Chrysopoeia FPGA engine, running bespoke code to perform studio-grade DSD Remastering up to an extraordinary DSD2048, heightening resolution further to rival a professionally remastered recording.

Wherever your music lives, the iDSD PHANTOM was built to reach it. Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, and AirPlay 2 are all supported natively, alongside playback from local libraries, USB drives, and NAS systems across your home network.
Behind it all sits a network engine rebuilt from the ground up, supporting resolutions of PCM 768kHz and DSD512 wirelessly. The new and updated Nexis mobile app makes getting connected to your home network quicker and easier than ever, putting the PHANTOM's full network capabilities at your fingertips.

The iDSD PHANTOM incorporates JVCKENWOOD’s K2HD Technology to restore missing harmonic information, reintroducing subtle depth and texture to bring recordings closer to their original intent.

Music Without Restraint.
A DAC and streamer this capable could easily have treated the headphone section as an afterthought. The iDSD PHANTOM doesn’t.
With up to 7,747mW peak and 4,676 RMS output, it has the reserves to truly drive planar magnetics, high-impedance designs, and anything else demanding enough to expose an amplifier’s limits.
From the faintest breath between notes to the full force of an orchestral crescendo, the PHANTOM remains composed and controlled, resulting in music that retains its scale and impact at any listening level.
Engineering on Display.
What appears to be two stacked units is, in fact, a single dual-level design. Its substantial aluminium body provides the depth required to house the multi-layer circuitry, while creating the distinct two-tier form.
The lower tier accommodates cable connections front and back; the upper tier is where the PHANTOM comes to life, with tactile controls and a colour OLED display providing an immediate view of selected settings. A flush smoked-glass panel crowns the design, offering an unobstructed view into the circuitry within.
The PHANTOM is as compelling to look at as it is to listen to.
At Your Command.
The iDSD PHANTOM features iFi Nexis, a connected control platform that takes it beyond its physical controls. With the Nexis app, your smartphone becomes an extension of the PHANTOM, giving you access to features and functionality that sit beyond the fascia.
Control the PHANTOM from anywhere in the room, refine its settings without leaving your seat, and keep it evolving with over-the-air updates delivered directly to the amplifier.
