Every aspect has been reconsidered and refined: a new DAC tuned for richness and a viscerally real midrange; an OLED touchscreen and Nexis compatibility for effortless control; more powerful amplification with greater dynamics and a more immersive soundstage; and smarter connectivity that goes further than ever before.

The Burr Brown PCM1795 DAC chipset delivers true 32-bit resolution, lower distortion, and greater dynamic range. As a current-output DAC, it allows for greater freedom in the design of the analogue output stage.

With up to 50% more headphone drive than its predecessor, the iDSD GR 2 has plenty of power to ensure outstanding performance and headroom, even with some of the most demanding headphones available.

A new capacitive touchscreen OLED colour display allows for direct, intuitive control of the iDSD GR 2’s extensive feature set, making more of the core features available without the need for deep menu diving.

K2HD restores harmonic content lost in the digitisation process of audio recording, recovering the depth and nuance of the original recording for a more natural and engaging listening experience.

PCM1795. Pure Conversion Magic.

The GR 2 is our first DAC to feature the Burr-Brown PCM1795 chipset, chosen for its cleaner harmonic structure and effortlessly analogue character. Together, they deliver the warmth we’re known for, while unlocking greater resolution, deeper dynamics, and an intimacy that draws you into the performance.

As a current-output DAC, it also gives us the complete freedom to craft a bespoke I/V conversion and analogue stage around it, extracting every measure of emotion, texture, and musicality the chipset is capable of.

The GR 2’s OLED capacitive touchscreen display brings all settings directly to your fingertips - meaning no menus to dig through, and no combinations of buttons to memorise. Just glance and adjust - or lock it when on the move.

It also gets Nexis integration, enabling deeper fine-tuning and over-the-air updates, so the GR 2 continues to evolve long after it leaves the box.

Scale Beyond its Size.

From preamp to headphone amp, to volume control, the GR 2 is now fully differential balanced, delivering 50% more drive than the Gryphon, alongside significantly lower distortion.

The GR 2 redefines what wireless performance can mean, with Bluetooth 5.4 and aptX Lossless working together to deliver the highest-quality Bluetooth audio available today.

In supported devices, that means true CD-quality playback, with zero loss of musical detail. For wider compatibility, LDAC provides a premium high-resolution option across a wide range of devices.

The GR 2 incorporates JVCKENWOOD’s K2HD Technology to restore harmonic depth, reintroducing subtle musical information to bring recordings closer to their original intent.

The result is a more natural, engaging listening experience, where digital playback feels less processed and more connected to the performance.

Power That Adapts.

Designed for those who use the GR 2 as part of a home or office system, the new hybrid power mode intelligently prioritises external power when connected to mains. When enabled, it draws primarily from the mains, only engaging the battery when additional headroom is required - before automatically returning to mains operation once demand settles. This reduces unnecessary battery cycling during everyday use, helping to preserve long-term battery health.

One GR 2. Any Setup.

Despite its compact footprint, the GR 2 is built to slot effortlessly into almost any listening chain. USB, Bluetooth, S/PDIF via coaxial and optical, and dedicated line inputs give you the flexibility to connect sources old and new. Headphone and line outputs extend that versatility even further, whether the GR 2 is driving headphones on the move or serving as the heart of a wider system.

Control Beyond the Device.

The GR 2 is fully compatible with iFi Nexis, extending control beyond the device itself. Through the app, advanced settings are easy to access and fine-tune, giving you a deeper level of personalisation without complicating the everyday experience. iFi Nexis also enables over-the-air updates, so the GR 2 can continue to evolve over time - adding refinements, features, and improvements long after it leaves the box.
